Discover the Hill Library

Books

The 15,000 volume library collection contains a wide variety of fiction, non-fiction and children’s books. Many ideas and points of view are represented. Included are many useful books on repairing, painting, building, gardening, sports, and the fine arts.

Multimedia

Hill Library has a substantial range of video, DVD, tapes, and CDs for all ages. Commuters find our audiobooks particularly good to use while driving long distances. Computers and Wi-Fi available.

Strafford History

Strafford and statewide history are placed in the Cilley wing near the Cilley nature collection which concentrates on birds. The Strafford Historical Society has placed a variety of documents, memorabilia and photographs. The town reports date back to 1882.

Meeting Room

The Herb Cilley wing is used by many groups including Garden Club, Quilters, Book groups, Strafford Energy Committee, Weavers and Spinners, game players, modelers, poets, and various town committees. To schedule a reservation, contact the Library.

The Hill Library offers free, fun, educational programs for young Strafford residents and their families:


Children's Story Hour 
Children's Story Hour IS every 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month at 2:15 PM.
                      GROW WITH BOOKS

        "When speaking your mind or making your choice."
      

Family Movie Nights
This is just the prescription needed to get the family together. Family friendly movies are shown twice a month and are free and open to the public. Check out the homepage for upcoming shows.

Hill Library Clubs

Quilting Sew & Chat
This quilting group meets every 4th Sunday of the month. To attend meeting, simply stop by, or contact the library for more information.

Poetry Evenings 
Poetry Evenings feature established artists and an open-mic session. Residents and non-residents are welcome to these free evenings. Check out the homepage for upcoming poetry nights.

Garden Club 
The Strafford Garden club meets every 2nd Monday of the month. For more information contact the library

Speakers
     The Hill Library offers presentations on a variety of topics including: financial, environmental, and political. Check out the homepage for upcoming speakers.

MANAGE GROWTH COMMITTEE
   Strafford's Manage Growth Committee meets the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00PM.

FIBER GROUP
     On the first and third Thursdays a Fiber group meets to knit, crochet, and spin and socialize.  Anyone is welcome to come at 6:30 PM.
